Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, reliable and experienced Theatre Practitioner to join the UHS Robotic Surgery Team as a Band 6, based at Princess Royal Hospital. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Theatre Practitioner; Registered Nurse or ODP to expand our team who are dedicated to providing excellent, patient focussed care. The successful candidate will work closely with and support the Team Leader, helping to train and develop the team and drive this growing service forwards. Experience with robotic surgery and an anaesthetic qualification are highly desirable but not essential, however a firm grounding and high level of experience in General, Gynaecology and Urology surgery is a must for this role.

Main duties of the job
Provide care and emotional support to all patients
Provide leadership skills with the ability to manage and direct people.
Demonstrate an understanding of team dynamics and participate in effective team building.
Provide assistance to the anaesthetist/surgeon during all stages of anaesthesia/surgery.
Provide support and skilled assistance to the theatre team
Provide anaesthetic assistance in a variety of situations across the hospital (Anaesthetic practitioner)
Maintain knowledge and ability to use all specialist equipment used in theatre and other areas
Promote safe and effective practice across all areas
Frequently work at a high level of autonomy particularly in out of hours work
Support other members of the Theatre Team
Promote a positive learning environment, teach and assess learners and new staff.
Support and assist the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit when needed
Be aware of and comply with policies regarding:
Infection Control
Health and Safety
Safeguarding
Confidentiality
Information Governance

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Senior Theatre Practitioner to join our team.
You will need to have good communication skills and a dedication to providing a high standard of patient care. The successful candidate will work within the theatre team to ensure safety of the patient in the operating theatre. For more information please see the Job Description under Supporting Documents.
You will be expected to work shifts to enable us to meet the needs of the department. This includes nights, weekend shifts and on calls.

- NMC Level 1 or HCPC registration
- Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or equivalent mentorship qualification
