At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.
In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.
Job overview
We are looking for one fulltime and one part-time experienced Clinical Support Worker to work in our Outpatient Oncology / Haematology Unit at the Judy Beard Day Unit at Conquest Hospital. The unit comprises of 18 treatment chairs/bed: treating, assessing Haematology and Oncology patients receiving Systemic Anti-cancer Treatments and supportive treatments.
We are a small friendly team who are committed to providing high quality care to our patients.
The candidate will be someone with experience in a Health or Social Care Environment and it is desirable that you have six months of experience working in the NHS, preferably within the last two years, with a Care Certificate qualification. National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or an acceptable alternative Level 3 Qualification
Main duties of the job
Your working pattern will be three/four shifts, between the hours of 08:00-18:00 over a six-day period covering Monday-Saturdays.
You will be required to assist the trained SACT nurses to enable and enhance an efficient service delivery. This will include carrying out Aseptic Non-Touch Technique procedures.
We will provide a supportive atmosphere, mentorship and clinical supervision on the unit and are committed to professional development of all staff.
Team working is an integral part of this unit with all staff enabled and empowered to make a real difference for their patients.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Satisfactory General Education
- National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) Level 3 in Health and Social Care OR an acceptable, alternative Level 3 Qualification
- Care Certificate
- Demonstrable ability to acquire skills appropriate to provide Scope of Practice that is commensurate to clinical area
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of additional Level 3 Vocational Training outside of main award. For example: standalone NVQ Level 3 Units; Specialist Training. For example: Dementia Care; Wound Care
- Acceptable evidence of experience and competence in skills required for specific clinical area
Experience
Essential criteria
- 12 months experience (current) in a Health or Social Care Environment
Desirable criteria
- Six months (within the last two years) of experience of working in NHS
