Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 fixed term / secondment post 37.5 hours a week for a year

We require an experienced, enthusiastic RN Child or RSCN working at UH Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust with a clear interest in research. 

This would give you the opportunity to expand your knowledge of Clinical Research by joining our Paediatric and Neonatal Clinical Research Nursing team at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton (RACH)

Please note that this role is a secondment opportunity or fixed term contract. Before applying you must seek agreement and authorisation from your current line manager. Secondments can’t be agreed without your current manager’s approval. If you are unable to gain your managers approval you should refrain from applying unless you wish to take this role as a fixed term position 

Main duties of the job

You will coordinate a variety of Clinical Paediatric and Neonatal Research studies, including national & local academic studies as well as multi centre commercially sponsored trials, adhering to the principles of Good Clinical Practice in research.

This role will involve recruitment & follow up of patients within trials and you will be responsible for following study protocols & ensuring the safety of these patients along with the collation & documentation of study data.

Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, education and support of children & families for our clinical trials is also required

We will work together as a team to embed research into the clinical areas in line with our research strategy.

The successful candidate must have experience in working in the acute care setting and have a broad range of clinical skills.

This is a development and learning opportunity and informal visits are actively encouraged.
