Royal Sussex County Hospital - Imaging Department
The purpose of this role is to support Interventional Radiology teams with the management of stock and ordering for theatres. This role will be responsible for the ordering, receipt and stock management of the supplies for both General and Neuro Interventional Radiology.

- Reporting low stock or over-stocking
- Raising orders to replenish supplies using our Trust's supplies ordering computer systems
- Assist rational materials management
- Keep storage areas organised and tidy to avoid unnecessary waste
- Liaise with clinical staff regarding specialist orders
- Liaise with companies regarding stock issues e.g. limited supplies, delays in orders. Then report to the relevant clinical teams
- To actively and safely participate as a member of the nursing team and contribute towards the smooth and efficient running of the department.
Stores Health Care Assistant – Band 3
Full Time 37.5 hrs/wk between the hours of 08:30 to 17:00.
Main duties of the job
The opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 3 HCA to join our friendly team in the General and Neuro Interventional Radiology Department in Imaging.
The purpose of this role is to support Interventional Radiology teams with the management of stock and ordering for theatres. This role will be responsible for the ordering, receipt and stock management of the supplies for both General and Neuro Interventional Radiology.
Previous experience in a Radiology Department is desirable but not essential.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
• To ensure effective communication with nurses, doctors, radiographers on site as well as to other departments
• To order stock items and assist rational materials management
• Reviewing and maintaining stock
• Reporting low stock or over stocking
• Raising orders to replenish supplies using our Trust's supplies ordering computer systems
• Keep storage areas organised and tidy to avoid unnecessary waste
• Liaise with clinical staff regarding specialist orders
• To record data and take part in audits as required.
• Be responsible for keeping the clinical areas fully supplied with necessary equipment. Order stock items as identified.
• Undertake clerical and reception duties when necessary.
• Liaise with clinical staff regarding stock
• Liaise with companies regarding stock issues e.g. limited supplies, delays in orders. Then report to the relevant clinical teams
• To have an interest in self development and be active in enhancing own personal knowledge in a variety of ways such as study days
• Knowledge of Trust Policies relating to post
• Contribute to the identification of areas for change and development.
• To assist Inpatient and Day Case patients and radiologists during procedures by ensuring necessary stock is available
• Support the team to correctly identify and prepare patients for the range of invasive procedures

Education and Experience
Essential criteria
- Good standard of general education to include Maths and English GCSE at grades 4 and above / C and above or equivalent
- Care Certificate Level 2
- Good interpersonal skills and use of the English language
- Well written personal statement
Desirable criteria
- Level 3 Educational Qualifications and / or extensive experience in a relevant health care setting
- Skilled in computer program use
