Our centre for trauma services and obstetrics is at Conquest Hospital, while our centre for urology and stroke services is at Eastbourne DGH. At Bexhill Hospital we offer a range of outpatient, day surgery, rehabilitation and intermediate care services. At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.

In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.

 

Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic RGN or ODP with surgical theatre and/or ophthalmic nursing skills to join our busy Ophthalmic Day Unit at Bexhill hospital.

Helping us in our mission to deliver patient focused care within a modern progressive unit; encompassing pre-assessment, theatre and the admission/discharge lounge to provide the complete surgical pathway for the ophthalmic patient. Support the multi-disciplinary team in maintaining existing and developing new procedures.

 As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be undertaking a variety of tasks; such as pre-assessment clinic and theatre. There is ample opportunities for professional growth and skill development within our team.

Main duties of the job

Assessment of patient 's surgical pathway 

Admission & discharge care in the ward area of the Ophthalmic Day Unit.

Circulating and assisting with surgical procedures in theatre area of the Ophthalmic Day unit.
