With a budget of around £365m, three hospitals and 5,500 staff, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital-based services to the population of Hartlepool, Stockton on Tees and parts of East Durham and Sedgefield as well as community, therapeutic and screening to a wider population across Durham and Teesside.

A full time vacancy has arisen for a post within the Chemotherapy Day Unit in In Hospital care at North Tees for a qualified nurse within the multi-disciplinary team. We are seeking RGN with a specialist interest in Chemotherapy medicine to work alongside, under the supervision of the Ward Matron to enable us to co-ordinate a quality service.

Main duties of the job

 Contribute to the provision of physical and psychological environment conducive to providing a good standard of nursing care.

 Responsible in the assessment of care needs under the direction of an experienced Practitioner

Responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of care programmes under the direction of an experienced Practitioner

Communicates effectively with patients, relatives, carers and staff.

 Liaises with members of the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of care programmes.

 May be required to take charge of a Ward/department when deemed competent and safe to do so.

 Participates in the promotion of health education and prevention of illness.

 Participate in training programmes.

 Takes responsibility for personal development and education including continuing education and development of a professional profile

Abide by all legal requirements, statutory rules and local policies and procedures relating to good practice.
