Trosolwg o'r swydd

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3, Band 6 Clinical Leads to work within Ridgeway Secure Service.  The successful candidates will be a highly motivated individuals who hold a current professional registration with the NMC.  You will be professionally accountable and responsible for the delivery of clinical care within the ward team with the focus on positive behavioural support and Trauma Informed Compassionate Care to patients. 

This exciting and challenging role will afford the opportunity to work as part of a supportive team that is focused on delivering high standards of care through evidenced based practice.   You will be in a key role within the team and alongside other members of the leadership team,  ensuring the overall aims and purpose of the ward are clear and that patient safety  is paramount.  You will carry out assigned tasks involving direct care, and will be required to work rotational days and night shifts.

The successful applicants will be working with patients within Ridgeway Secure Services  providing clinical leadership to a core team of staff.  The successful applicants should have a person centred values base,  have skills in identifying strategies  and plans for future care, maximizing individual's strengths and minimizing the impact of their needs on their daily lives. 

You will need excellent communication skills and be calm, confident and resilient in your approach. You will need to be able to form therapeutic relationships with people with mental health, learning disability and or Autism needs. You will be joining a team of highly skilled and committed individuals and will become part of the multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council. RMNH/RNLD
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent. Must be achieved within 6 months
  • Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision OR willingness to work towards within 6 months

Experience

  • Minimum of 12 months experience post completion of preceptorship experience working with people with mental ill health, Autism or Learning Disability in a care environment
  • Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
  • Providing clinical supervision to individuals or groups as professionally appropriate
  • Supervising or assessing students on practice placement.
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Quality improvement activities

Knowledge

  • Demonstrable knowledge to post-graduate level of evidence based practice in caring for patients in the designated field
  • Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act).
  • Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice.
  • Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
  • Clinical Governance and its application in practice.
  • Research and development methodology.
  • Understanding of psychological models of care and treatment.
  • Working knowledge of clinical medicines management, including administration of injections.
