An exciting opportunity has arisen working within the Nursing and Governance Directorate as member of the Physical Health Team as a Clinical Educator. Working directly with the Lead Nurse for Physical Health Care.
The successful candidates will utilise their current experience to develop and lead clinical physical health education to staff across TEWV. The Post holder will support with the development of a portfolio of education related to physical health .
The post holder will ensure the delivery of physical health care education complements existing education programmes to provide an evidence based education across the Trust.
The post holder will act as a clinical and professional role model to maintain and develop exceptional standards of clinical care working alongside mental health and learning disability specialities and professional groups to adopt a culture of education and clinical development within the workforce.
The post is a Trust wide post and the post holder will be working from different Trust sites there is a expectation of travel.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
To coordinate, lead, design and deliver clinical training programmes for the workforce which meet agreed service priorities and regulatory requirements for clinicians employed across Tees Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV).
Working as a clinical role model based in the Nursing and Governance, contributing to the physical health annual planning and delivery of wider learning and development activity, travelling across the Trust providing opportunities to increase clinical knowledge and skills to the registered workforce, using a train the trainer model of delivery.
To improve the lives of people with mental ill health by minimising the impact of their condition through the delivery of excellent services to promote recovery and wellbeing.
To be compassionate in meeting the needs of patients and their carers.
To always promote a positive image of people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities.
To always promote a positive image service and the wider Trust.
To facilitate others in the team to develop competence by providing leadership, day to day supervision, clinical advice, and clinical supervision to associate practitioners, healthcare assistants and students as appropriate.

Qualifications

- Current professional registration with the NMC/HCPC
- Recognised clinical teaching qualification or equivalent clinical mentoring and teaching experience
- Evidence of continuous personal development
- Degree or able to demonstrate competencies to work at that level
- Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)
Experience

- Minimum 2 years post registration experience
- Substantial post registration experience in Health or Social Care
- Experience of mentoring/supporting learners or ability to demonstrate the skills required for effective mentoring
- Experience of designing, delivering, and evaluating training
- Experience of working in support of diverse multidisciplinary groups and teams

- Experience of delivering clinical skills
Knowledge

- Full understanding of the Training Cycle and its components
- Awareness of the national drivers regarding Mental Health services
- Awareness of national drivers of learning & development and NHS services

- Evidence of continuing personal and professional development
