As University Hospitals Dorset we are a three site acute trust with ‘university hospital’ status through our partnership with Bournemouth University, working with an annual budget of £730m.
We offer highly regarded health services, employing some 10,000 staff. Our ambitious £250m estates programme is well on the way to delivering state-of-the-art facilities over the next two years to meet the current and future healthcare needs of the populations we serve.

Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a band 7 Enhanced Clinical Practitioner (ECP) or Band 6 trainee ECP (progression role to Band 7 on attainment of ECP Qualification) to join our teams working within the Breast, Endocrine, Skin and Sarcoma Team.
The post holder will be based mainly at Bournemouth, with the likely need for cross site working at Poole.
Together with our established, experienced team the successful candidate will be responsible for provision of nurse led new patient, follow up clinics and sarcomas, supporting the consultant breast and skin surgeons, as well as having a key role in nurse led follow up cancer services for breast and skin cancer, co-ordinating MDT meetings and providing support and training to inpatient and primary care services.
We are looking for an energetic nurse with proven ability to work autonomously in an enhanced practice role, and who has a zest to make a difference in the care of those experiencing life changing treatment. As there is a significant oncology component to the post, previous experience in medical or surgical oncology is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. More important in this role will be a nurse who is highly organised, motivated to learn, with excellent communication and team working skills.
We highly recommend a discussion with one of our nursing team team ahead of application/interview
This post requires an active UK NMC Registration

Working for our organisation
Our values define who we are as #TeamUHD. They underpin everything we do now and in the future. They define how we treat our patients, visitors, and each other, our valued teammates and colleagues.
UHD are investing in services across the Trust, with many being transformed and developed following merger and the New Hospital Programme.
This means that some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or long term. Recruiting Managers interviewing for this role will be happy to answer any specific questions that you have about this at interview.
There is a possible planned move for this service during 2026, when this role and base of work will relocate to Poole site. Upon relocation of the role/service, excess mileage allowance / reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the post holder’s home and work base will be classified as a commute. Any other changes unrelated to this, will be handled in line with Trust/National terms and conditions.
