Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team of practice educators to design and delivery education and training programmes across the Torbay and South Devon Integrated Care Organisation (ICO).
The purpose of this role is pivotal in promoting high quality patient care through the continuing education and professional development of the workforce.
The role will oversee and promote a learning environment within the clinical teams, and will ensure the delivery of evidence-based practice and promotes a learning culture that encapsulates the needs of our workforce together with developing and creating a shared integrated learning experience for the benefit of our patients and staff.
Applicants must hold an up to date professional registration and have extensive experience with working in the clinical environment and supporting education and training.
Main duties of the job
- Successful candidates will lead the development of innovative education and training to meet the challenging demands our clinical workforce. This will include developing simulation, transformation, QI and digital education.
- These roles will also play a pivotal part in shaping our future learning environments and working with our clinical services in the support and quality of education provided to a range of clinical learners.
- The role will lead the design and delivery of specified education , including the implementation and extension of simulation, digital, QI and transformation training programmes for the clinical workforce.
- An important part of the role will be to work to support learners in practice and developing positive learning environments. development opportunities.

Qualifications and training
Essential criteria
- First level registered nurse, midwife or relevant professional registration or professional qualification at degree level or equivalent experience
- Relevant teaching/training/instructing qualification
- Master’s level qualification, working towards or proven ability to work at this level
- Evidence of continued professional development within the area of education and leadership
- Clinical experience at Band 6 or equivalent demonstrable healthcare experience at a senior level
Knowledge and experience

- Highly developed teaching, communication, influencing and negotiating skills
