We have 2 exciting opportunities for band 6 Ophthalmic nurses commencing as a band 5 until training has been completed all training will be provided in house.
This is a very varied and interesting vacancy. Full time hours between 08:00 and 19:00 weekends and BH are 08:30-14:00 running an emergency service only.
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

This is a very busy friendly unit with all bandings working together and assisting each other.

- Analyse and make knowledge based decisions in relation to acute ophthalmic and other patient related conditions and situations; subsequently taking appropriate remedial action.
- co-ordinate patient journey across divisions and organisational boundaries.
- Assess and diagnose the cause of a patient’s problem; thereafter provide the appropriate nursing intervention and care, evaluate and discharge.
- Detailed information giving is imperative with verbal information being reinforced by way of patient information leaflets specifically relating to the patient problem. Identify methods of self-help along with rationale for any treatment and its administration. Contact telephone numbers are detailed on these leaflets. All aspects of health promotion, health education and continuity of care are vital components within our nursing care programme.
