An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative nurse to join our very dynamic and friendly small team based in the Urology Outpatient Services department at Royal Derby Hospital.

To apply for this post, you should ideally have previous experience in Urology Nursing.

As a specialist Nurse you will possess the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team, manging your own caseload of patients with bladder and bowel dysfunction, providing expert advice for Trust staff and liaising with primary care colleagues.

 You will work closely with other members of the specialist multidisciplinary team and therefore require excellent communication skills.

Through a comprehensive programme of peer supervision, you will be expected to develop your skills and knowledge to effectively assess, treat and manage patients in nurse led clinics.

You will be able to plan treatment programmes for patients requiring care for a range of bladder and bowel problems.

You will provide specialist nursing advice to the multi-professional team, taking into account all aspects of Clinical Governance promote and develop the use of evidence based practice to improve the outcomes of patient care.

Expected to facilitate, develop and deliver individual programmes of care and care packages, where necessary, providing specialist information and support to patients, their relatives and other members of the caring team to ensure continuity of a high standard of care.

Act as a role model at all times and ensures that all team members and others visiting the area give a high priority to policies and procedures relating to infection control in order to maintain a safe clinical environment for everyone.
