The Role: As a Matron, you will have overarching responsibility for the organisation and operational management of one of the care units within the Surgical Division. You will work alongside the Clinical Lead and Service Manager as a key part of the care unit triumvirate, overseeing specialties including Orthopaedics, Urology, Breast, General Surgery, Vascular and Outpatient clinics.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level professional, operational, and transformational leadership within the Care Unit and the wider Trust.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and person-centred care through engagement and empowerment of others.
- Collaborate with the Divisional Nurse Director, and Head of Quality Governance to promote the highest professional standards of care.
- Lead and deliver success across key programmes within the Division, including productivity, efficiency, transformation, clinical effectiveness, quality, and workforce succession planning.
Essential Qualifications:
- Registered General Nurse.
- Specialty specific registration appropriate to the role.
- Formal management qualification or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of appropriate relevant professional development.
- Degree or relevant experience.
