A Vacancy has become available for a Health Care Assistant in the Elective Care Suite at the Cumberland Infirmary for 30 hours
This is a busy Surgical admission Unit which accommodates Day patients and In-patients prior and post-operatively following surgery/ procedure. The opening times are 07:30-20:30. Health Care duties include working in a small but friendly team covering all aspects of care including monitoring and documenting patients vital signs pre and post operatively. The Health Care Assistant will be expected to assist the Registered Practitioner in the delivery of care to patients.
The successful candidate will be offered training for venepuncture , cannulation and E.C.G. practice. The application should have good communication skills , be empathetic and be able to treat patients with confidentiality and dignity.
The Elective Care Suite is a very busy unit which provides care for a large volume of patients which varies from Surgical procedures to Trauma cases. We work at a fast pace to provide a very high standard of care.
Main duties of the job
The Team in Elective Care Suite is a relatively small committed Team who are experienced Nurses .There are already 2 other HCA who work in E.C.S. We are committed to our patients and treat them with dignity ,compassion and Respect and confidentiality. The team have recently overcome a change of work ethic in the department which we have overcome as a Team building on new ways of working. The team ensure that the organisation and Leadership of Nursing services supports the delivery of the highest standards of patient care.

Standard Check: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
Enhanced Check: £38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
