Band 3 Health Care Assistant , 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a healthcare assistance who is up to new challenge and develop their skills in a renal unit.

Full support and training are provided in care needs of a haemodialysis patient. 

The unit Provides holistic, evidence based care to patients requiring haemodialysis . We have 14 stations and care for patients with  acute and chronic renal failure. We are a multidisciplinary team

Main duties of the job

The post holder will carry out delegated tasks involving direct care under the direction of a Registered Nurse assisting in the delivery  of  high quality patient care and support during haemodialysis.

The post holder is expected to work within their own level of competence and assist in the preparation, provision of care and supervision of patients treated by haemodialysis.

The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

 

Standard Check: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Enhanced Check: £38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE English & Maths or equivalent
  • National Care Certificate or complete as part of induction process
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ 3 in care (willingness to complete within 1 year of start date) or equivalent experience

Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Ability to maintain and improve knowledge, skills and competence to ensure high standards of patient care.
  • Ability to carry out routine elements of assessment to enhance the patient journey, following an initial assessment by a registered practitioner
