This is your chance to be part of an amazing nursing team - where patient care is at the centre of everything we do. Do you want to make a difference to each patient’s experience of the NHS as they proceed through their journey? The Same Day Medical Assessment unit at the Royal Cornwall Hospital is recruiting now and we want you!

The Same Day Medical Assessment unit provides emergency medical care for patients on the same day as well as those patients who are requiring admission under the expert care of our admitting emergency medical physicians within our trust. We require nurses who have care, compassion and courage at the core of their nursing vision. We are an exciting unit going through a period of significant change and exciting development with investment in our nursing template as well as additional medical, therapies and pharmacy cover to ensure we provide our patients with a true multi-disciplined team that can support our patients in their health needs.

This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours per week. However, part-time hours would also be considered.

We work together to create a positive team spirit, recognising achievements and celebrating success. We know that happy patients start with happy staff.

To work as a skilled member of the nursing team.

To provide a high standard of compassionate patient centred care.

To lead and supervise the work of other qualified and unqualified staff within the team

To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.

To be able to take charge of the ward in the absence of senior nursing staff, as deemed appropriate by the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse or Clinical Matron.
