This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced transformational clinical leader with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the perioperative environment  to join the theatre team in leading the transitional process from our existing estates to our new £36M surgical centre in 2025.

Main duties of the job

You will lead a multidisciplinary theatre team from our existing 5 main theatre department to our new £36.M surgical centre due for opening in 2025. The Friarage surgical Centre will have 6 main operating theatres, 2 minor operating theatres, a 2 bay regional block room, 12 bay recovery.

You will work closely with the Senior sister for the admissions and discharge areas of the surgical centre maintaining patient flow throughout the building.   Using your extensive perioperative management knowledge you will be instrumental in collaborative decision making from the existing operational model, transition period and implementation phases before full operational maturity.

In addition to leading the theatre teams through this changing period you will execute and administer daily management of the theatre teams, lead on rostering to set KPI's, participate in list reviews,  have a strong sense of service improvement and liaise with key stakeholders to ensure  safety, productivity and efficiency of the operating theatre department.  You will champion and deliver strategy, gaining support from key stakeholders to  deliver operational objectives and advocate for the theatre service.  You will confidently and effectively mitigate and manage risk to maintain the safety of staff and patients and continue to promote an open and honest culture within the department.
