Job overview
The practice placement facilitator post will suit a degree registered nurse with a passion for student nurse education and a genuine interest in promoting high quality student experiences. The post holder will work across all areas of the trust and within all nursing departments and wards engaging with staff and students and promoting excellence. This post will suit a dynamic individual with current clinical experience and excellent communication skills. A working knowledge of the student nurse curriculum and proficiency is essential for this post.
Main duties of the job
The practice placement facilitator will spend the majority of their time in practice areas proving support and guidance to both students and staff. They will contribute to educational audit and the monitoring of student evaluations, responding to areas of concern and promoting excellence. The post holder will act as a role model for nursing providing a professional approachable presence in practice. The Practice Placement Facilitator will work under the direction of the Senior Practice Placement Facilitator to expand placement opportunities and provide training for trust staff. As part of the role the appointed person will work collaboratively with HEIs and universities to ensure safe and effective student experiences.
The post holder will possess strong IT skills as this will form part of the day to day duties.

Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of current issues and legislation effecting education in healthcare
- In-depth knowledge of the NMC standards of Education (2019)
- Demonstrate evidence of teaching, assessing and supporting students in practice
- High level for commitment and passion for education and student learning
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills
- Effective time management demonstrating working independently as well as in a team
Desirable criteria
- Clinical leadership experience
