Due to internal promotion we are looking for forward thinking professionally registered nurses with a Qualification in Neonatal Intensive care specialism (405) to join our dedicated team. We are seeking nurses who have the appropriate knowledge, skills, and flexibility that will enable them to work across all areas of the Neonatal unit.

Main duties of the job

The post holder:

The post requires experience, knowledge and skills of working in a neonatal unit at senior level. The successful candidate will lead/coordinate shifts, be able to work well independently and within the team and support junior staff as well as pre-registration student nurses

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The neonatal unit at Warrington and Halton NHS foundation trust has 14 cots, 2 intensive, 3 high dependency and 8 special care cots located in 2 rooms. Our service to include transitional care cots based on the post natal ward to reduce term admissions and separation of mothers and babies.

We are part of the Cheshire and Merseyside Network. We accept referrals from all networks as our location close to the M6, M56, M62 makes us ideally situated for this.

We work closely alongside the Maternity and Paediatric teams.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • RGN, RSCN or RN (Adult or Child)
  • Degree or working towards
  • Post-registration qualification in neonatal specialist area (ENB 405 or equivalent)
  • Teaching and assessing or mentorship qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Examination of the newborn
  • ENNP

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Two years clinical experience in speciality
Desirable criteria
  • Experience at a level 3 unit
  • Management experience
