The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable.

Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialists to join the Urology team. The post holder will deliver expert care to patients requiring Urological care and will be a key worker for patients with urological cancer diagnosis.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of varied Urology services including and not limited to, histology clinics, flexible cystoscopy, urodynamic clinics, intermittent self-catheterisation, uroflowmetry and teaching of penile injections for erectile dysfunction.
The post holder will also support clinically the Consultant Urologists and other members of the Urology team as appropriate. The post holder will attend the weekly Urology MDT panel meeting.
You will work closely with a MDT and hold structured independent clinical sessions. The Urology nursing service is innovative in the delivery of patient care and you will be a key colleague in contributing to the transformation and progression of services.
Main duties of the job
An experienced clinical practitioner with a high level of skill and theoretical knowledge. The purpose of this role is to provide specialist nursing care, advice, guidance and leadership, and to take responsibility for a specialist nursing service. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidenced-based nursing care. To provide expert advice and clinical practice.
Work autonomously and manage own workload as a lead specialist in their area. To provide specialist education and training to Staff
Lead and manage a team of specialist nurses. Work collaboratively and co-operatively with clinical colleagues to develop services and
the quality of care delivered.
To lead the development and planning of clinical services within the specialist field.
To demonstrate the Health Board’s values and ensure that others demonstrate the same values.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse (Part 1)
- Current NMC Registration
- Masters Degree or equivalent experience
- Specialist qualifications
- Expert level of knowledge in clinical speciality
- Knowledge of service improvement
- Able to undertake a literature search and critically appraise research papers
Desirable criteria
- Teaching qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Management qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Advanced clinical skills
- Non-medical Prescribing (v300)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience at Band 6 relevant to post
- Experience in the relevant specialty
- Experience of working in a multi-professional environment
- Experience of managing a ward/area/department
- Experience of working with pre-registration nursing/midwifery students in a mentorship role
- Experience of undertaking audit
- Experience of using reflective learning to support the development of self and staff
