An exciting opportunity has arisen within Steffan Ward at Glangwili General Hospital for the appointment of Staff Nurses. Steffan Ward is a 18 bedded ward specialising in Gastroenterology and Haematology . 

The ward has a fantastic supportive team, providing an environment which enables both teaching and learning and encourages personal development, working with the NMC code of conduct and hospital policies. Support can be provided through education and mentorship to build confidence for newly registered, those new to and /or returning to acute care.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:

Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Current NMC registration

  • Degree in Nursing
  • Evidence of post registration study and training eg POVA
  • Intermediate life support if required in clinical setting
  • Evidence of post registration study and training eg Child Protection

Experience
