The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable.

Job overview
We are looking for a enthusiastic and experienced recovery practitioner to join our team at Bronglais General Hospital. As a band 6, you will be required to support the day to day running of the recovery service/team.
The Department has a friendly supportive environment, which is strongly centred on teamwork and patient care.
The recovery team is a very dynamic and specialised team with high emphasis placed on advanced airway management and close multi-disciplinary practise.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate would be required to hold a RGN/ RN qualification or a Diploma/ Degree in Operating Department Practice.
We are a proactive, student nurse/ ODP placement provider, therefore candidate must have a mentorship qualification or be willing to work towards it.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- RGN Level 1 or Registered Operating Department Practitioner
- Specific clinical training/education related to Theatre/recovery/anaesthetics
- Evidence of Continued professional development to postgraduate diploma level
- Expanded clinical nursing skills
- Willing to undertake an in-house leadership development programme in next two years
- Willing to undertake other training essential to role
Desirable criteria
- Management/Leadership programme
- BSc (in health related subject)/willing to work toward
- Teaching and assessing module
- Recognised critical care course/module
- Clinical Supervision Module
- Certificate/diploma in orthopaedic or trauma nursing
Experience
Essential criteria
- Post registration experience including experience in the relevant clinical field
- Multi skilled competencies within the operating department
Language Skills
Desirable criteria
- Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
