Exciting  Opportunity: Matron Role in Musculoskeletal (MSK) CBU

Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic individual looking for a unique opportunity within the Division of Surgery? We are excited to offer a substantive post within our innovative Musculoskeletal (MSK) Clinical Business Unit (CBU).

You will play a crucial role in supporting our teams to deliver the Nursing and Midwifery strategy while contributing to the broader Trust agenda. Collaborating closely with clinical leads, you will have the chance to develop partnerships within and across the Division. This position is ideal for someone with proven success in senior roles within multi-professional teams, possessing outstanding leadership and management skills.

As the Matron, you will establish credibility with various stakeholders and serve as a visible presence within our ambitious, high-performing team. A thorough understanding of the Matrons Handbook is essential. Above all, we are seeking someone who can motivate and engage others, ensuring that our services reflect the Trust’s values.   • High Visibility and Accessibility: You will actively engage with stakeholders, addressing concerns, providing support, and promoting a positive working environment.

  • Contribution to Strategic Objectives: You will actively contribute to the Trust's strategic objectives, aligning their efforts with organisational priorities and initiatives to drive positive outcomes for patients and staff.

As a respected professional and experienced clinician, the matron will work with the Division to ensure that:

  • Practices are quality driven in all areas
  • High standards of care are set and delivered
  • Patients are treated with compassion, dignity and respect, placing value on diversity
  • Patients are cared for in a clean environment
  • Best practice in infection control is practised
  • Monitor and drive CQC fundamental standards and compliance
  • Influence patient experience of care through clinical practise, clinical management and leadership, clinical governance, education, research, audit and professional activities.
  • Provide clinical leadership across the surgical wards and outpatient departments

Provide line management for specified ward sisters and clinic nurse leads.

The post holder may be required to participate in the Trust’s on call management rota.

The Matron will work with the Chief Nurse and corporate nursing team to support the delivery of quality initiatives across the Trust.
