Job overview

In conjunction with the wider Practice Development Team contribute to North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust’s Nursing and Midwifery strategic development by ensuring quality improvement and safe practice are central to the education, training and development process whilst acting as a professional role model and clinical expert.

Main duties of the job

In conjunction with the other Lead Clinical Educators:

  • Lead and contribute to corporate Practice Development projects associated with National and Trust wide priorities and objectives.
  • Contribute to the Practice Development strategy promoting and contributing to, the delivery of high quality, safe patient care and best practice in the clinical setting.
  • Assist in the delivery of mandatory education and training across the Trust.
  • Function as a role model for nurses and Allied Health Professionals (AHP’s) and all staff across the organisation

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 1st Level Registration
  • 4 Years experience within an acute Trust
  • Completed or undertaking a first level degree in Nursing/ Health Studies.
  • Teaching qualification - accredited mentorship module/SSSA qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of a high level of nursing practice - uses evidence based practice to support patient care delivery.
  • Credible clinical role model who is committed to improving standards and patient care.
  • Evidence of leadership qualities.
  • Demonstrates record of achievement in changing and developing practice.
Desirable criteria
  • Leadership Course.
  • 3 year’s experience at senior level (Band 6)
  • Demonstration of autonomous practice
  • Evidence of networking across professional boundaries.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of Quality Governance and its application
  • Working knowledge of Trust and National Nursing initiatives
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of previous teaching experience both informal and formal.

Key Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent communication, liaison and interpersonal skills both written and verba
  • Evidence of being a Reflective Practitioner
  • Highly motivated.
