Job overview

This leadership role will encompass:

              Clinical assessment, treatment, care, and support of patients at all stages of their pathway

              Information and support to patients, families, and carers

              Clinical support of senior nursing and medical staff in decisions regarding care and treatment plans.

              Working closely with the Respiratory and Oncology medical and nursing teams.

Main duties of the job

  •            To coordinate the LCS service at an operational level ensuring the efficient running of the service, effective communication, and dissemination of information, working closely with the commissioners to ensure effective service delivery.

w  Provide relevant accurate data to the commissioning group to meet KPIs.

w  Report to the operational lead and commissioners to develop and raise the profile of LCS service.

w  To represent LCS service on relevant management and service development committees within the directorates in conjunction with the manager.

w  To provide high quality Audit and regular reports back to the commissioning group on all aspects of the service.

w  To have regular coordination meetings with the team

w  To ensure that all performance information identified as necessary is collected according to the timescales required.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Valid NMC registration
  • Degree in Adult Nursing or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • Masters Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice
  • Advanced Communication skills

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Up to date evidence of 4 Pillars of Practice
  • Good understanding of TLHC
  • Experience of service and practice development
  • Experience of multi professional working in an acute trust
Desirable criteria
  • Background in working with cancer patients
  • Background in respiratory nursing/screening programmes

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
  • Working with commissioners and external stakeholders
  • Organise and prioritise work schedule, confident in working autonomously
