Have you ever thought about obtaining a Specialist Practice (SPQ) Community Nursing (adults) qualification.

Our experience of providing services to adults in their own homes / care homes has highlighted how essential these roles are to health, emotional wellbeing, safeguarding & promotion of healthy lifestyles.

We are looking to recruit & train motivated individuals keen to develop their skills within Specialist Practice (SPQ) Community Nursing (adults) to join the PGDip SPQ course in Jan 24.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Passionate about the public health agenda and working with adults in their own homes & a desire to improve health outcomes, then this may be the career for you!

Have a current NMC registration in any branch of nursing & meet the academic requirements of the university, 50% of your time being academic study & 50% being practice experience within the Luton Adults Service. 

Able to commit to the 52 weeks of the course at the University of Hertfordshire.

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration on part 1 of the register.
Desirable criteria
  • Practice Supervisor / Practice Assessor Qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Post qualification experience as registered nurse.
  • Awareness of the role of the contemporary district nurse.
  • Ability to work with adults and their families to provide holistic, evidence-based care.
  • Ability to work in partnership with other agencies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Robust decision-making skills.
  • Awareness of current legislation, national and local policy related to specialist area

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good communication skills - both verbal and written.
  • Understanding of health and safety guidelines and risk assessment.
  • Able to identify with the Trusts commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Competent IT skills
  • Ability to prioritise and plan workload
