About the Role:
This dynamic position offers the opportunity to work across multiple sites, with a primary base at Doddington and regular travel to other NWAFT locations. You will play a vital role in leading and supporting the outpatient nursing team, delivering safe, effective and compassionate care in a community outpatient setting.

Main duties of the job

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide clinical leadership and management to the outpatient nursing team.
  • Ensure the delivery of safe and high-quality patient care in a community setting.
  • Coordinate patient pathways, promoting a smooth and efficient experience for all.
  • Support the development and training of staff, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Drive innovative service improvements and implement best practices across sites.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NMC Registration
  • Mentorship module/Preceptor training
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Management/leadership certification
  • Revalidation training

Experience

Essential criteria
  • 5 years post qualification experience in Hospital or Primary Care
  • Previous Outpatient Clinic Experience
  • Post registration experience to demonstrate relevant clinical skills for this post
  • Mentoring experience
Desirable criteria
  • Participation in a change management project

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of current clinical evidence-based practice
  • Knowledge of current professional issues related to nursing
Desirable criteria
  • Experience with risk assessment and adverse events investigations

Key Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise work
