Practice Development Transfer Practitioner - Adult Critical Care

The East of England Adult Critical Care Transfer service (ACCTS) are looking for a dedicated educator to join the team. 

The ACCTS has a robust education strategy and is committed to providing a service that excels in education and training for all members of our own staff and the wider community of healthcare professionals.  We provide training and education in-line with the standards set out by Intensive Care Society and mapped to the curriculum requirements set out by relevant training bodies including the national competency framework for registered nurses in adult critical care. We use a various tools to achieve our key objective to promote and enhance the delivery of excellent clinical care in transfer medicine across broadly two categories of training; in-house training and continuing staff development and regional/national training and education. You will work clinically with the Transfer Practitioners and Consultants to facilitate our educational goals including on the job training, integrated multidisciplinary training, classroom-based learning, targeted virtual courses, and simulation.

You will working closely with our Lead Nurse and our Lead Consultant for education & training to maintain, develop, implement and manage educational programmes both on a local and regional level. You will be responsible for the maintenance of competence and skills within the multidisciplinary team and encourage a culture of joint learning and development.

 To lead as a practice development transfer practitioner to facilitate education, training and professional development for all staff through formal and informal teaching.

To co-Lead the delivery of education and training programmes to meet the learning needs of the Transfer Service alongside the Consultant Education Lead.

To promote the work-based and academic learning of clinical staff through education and research initiatives.

Promote the development and implementation of evidence based practice.

To work in the clinical environment within the Transfer Service, to facilitate, a continuous process of critically evaluating and improving service provision, ensuring effective patient focused care.

Act as a link with staff from other critical care units within the East of England to share knowledge, best practice and clinical expertise.

To attend local and regional education meetings to ensure region wide collaboration and shared learning.

Facilitate induction, orientation and supervision of newly employed practitioners.

Responsible for meeting Trust requirements with regard to the delivery and compliance recording of mandatory training to all staff.

Assist in the management of critical care transfer practitioners alongside the Lead Nurse
