To work within a team of Occupational Health professionals providing a high quality needs based Occupational Health service to all contracted clients. The nature of the job will occasionally require the post holder to travel off site, often with equipment; so independent mobility throughout East Anglia is essential.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • Using Clinical knowledge/expertise, to provide a high standard of skilled care to service users.

     

  • To assist in maintaining KPI’s for the trust and external businesses though daily ISQ/2QHD clearances.

     

  • To take responsibility for the provision of clinics for NHS staff and external business clients who require appointments for routine and ongoing health surveillance under the HSE, COSHH

     

  • Undertake immunisations as per staff immunisation and screening policy and departmental

  • PGD’s

     

  • Undertake venepuncture, check and interpret blood results and follow up on/discuss unusual or abnormal results with the shift charge, nurse manager, senior lead nurse or duty doctor

     

  • To inform NHS staff and external business clients of results and any implications on working practice.

     

  • To ensure due regard is to given customs, and spiritual beliefs of patients values carers and their relatives. 

     

  • To role model and promote effective communication within the multi-professional team.

     

  • To be a willing participant in improving and maintaining an excellent service to ensure the needs of the working population are met

     

  • To assess an individual’s immunity to certain diseases and where appropriate give advice, administer immunisations or request tests consistent with current Occupational Health procedures and Department of Health guidelines.

  • To refer employees to appropriate services in a timely manner.

  • Previous knowledge of immunisation and infection screening.

Experience

  • Experience of utilising reflective practice.

  • Experience of mentoring junior staff.
  • Experience of teaching junior staff.
  • Experience of shift: shift ward management in absence of senior colleagues.
  • Clinical supervision.
  • Previous nursing experience of working in Occupational Health or giving immunisations.

Knowledge

  • Good theoretical and practical knowledge of nursing within the clinical area.
