An exciting opportunity has arisen at Cambridge University Hospitals, of Sister/Charge Nurse for Apheresis. Our Apheresis team delivers a range of life saving and life-enhancing treatments including Plasma Exchange, Red Cell Exchange, Stem Cell Harvest and CAR-T Cell Harvest to adults and children.
We are looking for a passionate and driven registered nurse with knowledge and skills in the field of Adult apheresis.
Acting as a resource and point of reference for patients, donors, relatives, and all members of the multidisciplinary team and primary health care teams involved in the process.
You will play a pivotal role in the training, support and education of colleagues, the co-ordination and scheduling of procedures and act as a link with other members of the multi-disciplinary team involved in the patient's clinical pathway.

Assist the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in the overall management of the Apheresis service.
Ensure patients are provided with a safe, individualised, holistic and evidence based care.
Provide leadership to all members of the ward promoting effective teamwork.
Act as Divisional bleep holder.
To educate and teach the nursing staff and to act as a resource for members of the Apheresis Team, patients, carers and members of the multi-professional team within Addenbrooke's Hospital and associated West Anglia Cancer Network.
To provide an on-call service as part of the roster.

Experience

- Relevant post registration experience in Apheresis.

- Deputising for Senior Sister/ Senior Charge Nurse in his/her absence.
- Experience of shift/ward management in the absence of senior colleagues.
Knowledge

- NMC Code of Conduct and guidelines for professional practice.
- Sound theoretical and practical knowledge of nursing care within the clinical area (haemato/oncology).
- Knowledge of care of the Apheresis patient.
- Awareness of need to demonstrate a professional appearance and behaviours.
