Job overview
The Endoscopy services at BHT are expanding, providing a service over a 7-day period to meet capacity demands and to improve patient experience. As such we are increasing our workforce to allow for this service development.
If you are a registered nurse who already has Endoscopy experience or you are someone who is willing to learn new skills and you are enthusiastic about supporting service and staff development for the benefit of patients, we would like to hear from you.

We are a JAG accredited Unit and encourage our staff to develop new skills by offering opportunities to attend training courses as well as supporting staff within the Unit providing both a clinical and competency based training programme.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be responsible for supporting the day to day running of the Endoscopy Unit.
- The post holder will assist the Endoscopist with procedures/investigations and manipulation of intricate equipment after appropriate training.
- The post holder will be responsible for ensuring nursing care is delivered safely and effectively.
- Liaise, report and document any relevant nursing/patient needs with other health care professionals with ongoing responsibility for patient care, communicating changes as they occur.
- Responsible for the timely entry of accurate, complete and valid data into the specialist Endoscopy reporting system.
- Promote health education within the Endoscopy Unit and be able to advise the patients and their relatives and others in health promotion issues.
