Job overview
The Community Night Service based in Stoke Mandeville Hospital is delighted to announce a new opportunity for a part time Band 3 Community Health Care Assistant.
Holding a full and valid drivers licence is essential to this role, as well as the ability to drive a trust car whilst supporting the nursing team to deliver care to patients in their own home. (Automatic and manual driving are required)
The ACHT reflects an integrated approach that has been designed in response to the changing needs of the local population, with a special emphasis being placed on the proactive vision of care for patients in the community setting.
The post will involve working in the community, supporting the community nurses and promoting independence in the patient’s home environment.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting and innovative service. Candidates need to be experienced Health Care Assistants. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a range of health professionals and informal carers. The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable, being able to respond to need at short notice.
In order to respond to the healthcare needs of the local population, the services covers a 7 days a week rota which therefore includes weekends , bank holidays and the possibility of the occasional night duty
Ideally the candidate should hold a NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.

- English and Maths Qualification. Either; GCSE A-C, Functional Skills Level 2, or GCSE 4 +
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care OR Diploma in Health and Support Level 3 OR Care Certificate in healthcare (Level 3)
- Good lNVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) and be prepared to undertake relevant trainingiterary and numeric skills
- Good literary and numeric skills
