The role is one of support for a health visiting team who work with a diverse community delivering the Healthy Child programme, this includes Developmental reviews, Breastfeeding Support, Child Behaviour Management, Sleep, and Nutrition.

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Community Nursery Nurse to work with a dynamic and friendly team of Health Visitors. NNEB, Diploma in Childcare and Education (CACHE) or NVQ Child Care Level 3 Qualification is required. 

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • Working with clients in a variety of community settings e.g. home, clinic, children’s centre, educational establishment etc
  • Advise and assist parents in developing their parenting skills. Report back to the senior member of staff who holds continuing responsibility for the family any problems or changes identified during work undertaken with a client.
  • Undertake Family Health Needs Assessment as directed by the Health Visitor ensuring prompt feedback of all client contact (contemporaneously) to line manager.
  • Working with the team to implement and prioritise planned programmes of health promotion, education and advice on all aspects of prevention of ill health to individuals, families and groups.
  • Undertake child and or family health assessments, including screening, in line with the Healthy Child Programme and according to local guidelines in various community settings as required, reporting back on any ensuing health problems.
  • Take appropriate action in cases of suspected or actual child abuse, working within Buckinghamshire Safeguarding Children Code of Practice and Procedures.
  • Attend Child Protection Conferences/Core Groups as required, with the named Health Visitor
  • Identify and report concerns promptly to your line manager including safety and health issues that may be detrimental to the health and well-being of children and their families.
