Main duties of the job

We are looking for dynamic and motivated candidates with experience in the General Medicine complex care and with an appetite for safe and effective patient care. You will be expected to function effectively in a fast paced and constantly changing environment without compromising essential standards of care and professionalism.
You will need to be flexible, enthusiastic and passionate.

Working for our organisation

These are 32 bedded acute medical ward, the wards take admissions from ED, AMU, AFU or ICU step-down. Patients admitted to this ward can be of any age and suffer from range of cardiac or respiratory conditions.

There are daily ward rounds with Consultants and junior doctors with team of physiotherapists and occupational therapists for those patients who need them. The palliative care team are often involved within both areas supporting patients with end-of-life and symptomatic care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Your main roles will entail:

  • Be responsible for delivering high quality, patient centred,
    compassionate care under the leadership and direction of a
    Registered Nurse (or other registered care professional
    dependent on setting) working within all aspects of the nursing process, providing high-quality holistic and person-centred care to individuals.
  • Support the registered nurse in the assessment, planning and evaluation of care with a focus on promoting health and
    independence.
  • Carry out specific clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the leadership and direction of a registered nurse or other registered care
    professionals dependent on setting.
  • Have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with NHS Values.
  • Be an accountable professional.
  • Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual.
  • Have the ability to work without direct supervision, at time delivering care independently in line with the individual’s
    defined plan of care, within the parameters of practice of the Nursing Associate role, accessing clinical and care advice when needed.
