Job overview

The Royal Wolverhampton Trust Primary Care Network has an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Nurse/Clinical Practitioner to join our forward thinking and dynamic team within a GP Practice environment.

The post is available to support across our 9 General Practices that are already aligned to the acute hospital trust. This role may include extended hours and access care provision.

We are looking for experienced Advanced Nurse/Clinical Practitioner who must have been qualified for a minimum of 3 years with 1 year recent experience within general practice or minor illness care provision. In return you will receive a robust support system by our dedicated multidisciplinary team across the primary care network.

Main duties of the job

To deliver advanced level practice which will encompass aspects of education, research and management but is firmly grounded in direct compassionate care provision or clinical work with patients, families, caseloads, and populations. Nurses working at an advanced level will promote public health and well-being using ‘making every contact count’ as an approach to change behaviour through interactions with individuals, carers and families to support them in making positive changes to their physical and mental health and wellbeing.

80% role clinical

20% role in education/research/service development.

Person specification

Qualifications/skills

Essential criteria
  • 5 years qualified with 1 year general practice or minor illness related care
  • MSc in Advanced clinical practice or working towards
  • Independent Non Medical Prescriber
  • NMC Registered Nurse

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of critical thinking
  • IT literate with Primary Care IT Systems ie EMIS
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Car driver and owner
