Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Job overview
To undertake the provision of holistic nursing care of patients and their significant others requiting chemotherapy/ anti-cancer treatment, with the support of senior colleagues. May develop the skills and competencies to perform additional tasks. Will work as part of the chemotherapy team to undertake the education of other healthcare professionals, patients and their carer's. Participate in audit and quality initiatives. Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams in both the acute trust and community. The post holder will rotate between acute hospital and community clinic settings. Will provide sound clinical knowledge in the field of anti-cancer drugs and have the skills necessary to provide care to patients and carer's received said treatments. Will assist in the supervision of junior nursing staff where applicable. Acts in a manner that upholds the values to the trust and that of the profession,

Are you passionate about driving forward the Chemotherapy unit service improvements for the Division of Surgery and improving patient experience? We currently have a vacancy available for band 5 Chemotherapy Nurse role Outpatients to work in close collaboration with the Matron and Senior Sister.
The post holder should act in a manner that upholds the values of the Trust and that of the profession, ensuring that service delivered contributes to supporting the principles of clinical governance. You will be encouraged to participate in the ongoing improvement of the clinical service and ensure implementation of the Trust’s policies, aims and objectives. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Responsible and accountable for the assessing, planning, implementing and evaluation of nursing care using holistic needs assessment.
Accountable and responsible for accurate and legible record keeping in accordance with local policies having due regard to the NMC guidelines.
Act as a point of liaison for the multi-disciplinary agency working, in order to achieve best possible outcomes in patient care.
Provide registered nurse support to support workers and students.
In the absence of a senior nurse, maintain a safe level of nursing, taking remedial action and reporting to senior staff when this cannot be achieved. Maintains the service to meet standards and outcomes identified by the senior nurse in charge in accordance with national evidenced based guidelines.
Required to administer drugs, including bolus and infusion chemotherapy in accordance to trust policy. Required to perform venepuncture in accordance with trust policy. Undertake additional training as required to meet the needs of the patient ad register any additional skills required. Participate in cancer peer review. Maintains the trust aims and objectives within the clinical setting.

- At least 12 months clinical experience, in associated specialty.
- Demonstrate evidence of post registration CPD
- Demonstrable achievement's in practice development
Qualifications

- RN- 1 ST Level nurse Recognised teaching qualification

- Able to work with senior staff to make continual improvements to the service Have experience in report writing
- Be able to work across boundaries-locally

- Show commitment to service improvement across the trust, with awareness of audit andebench marking processes
