The Perinatal Mental Health Service provides a Multi-disciplinary specialised care throughout the West Midlands, to treat mothers with mental health problems, both during pregnancy and in the first year post-partum.  There is also community outreach team as well as 10 inpatient bedded Unit at the Barberry. The NHS Long Term Plan (LTP) will see perinatal services expanding its remit to seeing approx. 10% of the birth rate, seeing women for up to 2 years postnatally, expanding its offer to partners and providing an increasingly comprehensive range of therapies to women and their families.

Perinatal Team East is a community team, who provide specialist perinatal service for women  living in the North and East of Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield, who are experiencing moderate to severe mental illness during the perinatal period.

 

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

Applicants will need to have a genuine interest in working with women and families in the perinatal period, have excellent communication and multi-agency liaison skills and a have good knowledge of safeguarding. Experience of working in the Perinatal Mental Health field is desirable but not essential. We are committed to equal opportunities and the development of our staff and will provide a robust induction programme.  We also provide regular supervision and training for all our staff.

If you want to work as part of our specialised multi-disciplinary team, we want to hear from you. We welcome applications from RMN's, Social Workers or Occupational Therapists who are keen to undertake a care co-ordination role  working as a Mental Health Practitioner within Perinatal Service.

Candidates must have access to a vehicle for work purposes. This is a full time position; we will also consider applicants interested in part time hours.
