Main duties of the job
We are determined to address our inequalities in care provision and improve the experience of our service users and staff. In the last 18 months we have engaged with staff and service users to identify the inequalities experienced. Now we are in the process of engaging with all stakeholders to identify the solutions and codesign a strategic implementation plan with clear deliverables. It’s an exciting time for our division.
We are looking to appoint a values based leader with specific interests towards inclusivity, recovery and co-production. You will be a motivated individual with a clinical qualification, who has frontline leadership experience with excellent communication and engagement skills. Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The purpose of the role is to provide leadership and support to secure care in BSMHFT and to the REACHOUT partners in MPFT and St Andrews Healthcare to evaluate the inequalities in Secure care. The role supports the post holder to promote equality as defined within the Equality Act (2010). To coproduce work to reduce inequalities between patients who access services and advice on how services can be provided to reduce health inequalities. The post holder will be responsible for leading and arranging relevant events and stakeholder engagement activities. They will maintain and update the Project plan and associated project documentation. They will develop effective relationships with key stakeholders and attend additional working groups as and when required. They will be required to make decisions within delegated authority, on behalf of the relevant Secure Care project leads.

- Evidence of being able to communicate with and engage front line clinical staff, clinical leaders, service users and carers where there may be barriers to understanding
- Evidence of contribution to practice and service development and the ability to translate strategic intent into operational reality
- Understanding of equal opportunities policies, including dynamics of disability., sexism, racism (understanding how institutionalised and internalised oppression works and how to confront it)
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Extensive highly developed specialist knowledge across clinical speciality and a range of clinical areas which is underpinned by theoretical knowledge and relevant practical experience
- Significant professional leadership, especially professional development, clinical governance and supervision and appraisal
