Band 7 Macmillan SACT Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner
**Full Time / Part Time**
The Berkshire Cancer Centre is looking to recruit a SACT Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner (tANP) to join its growing Advanced Nurse Practitioner team.
The successful tANP will be an experienced, SACT-qualified nurse, working towards taking responsibility for delivering patient-focused care programs.
During the training period, the tANP will undertake an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice under the supervision of the Nurse Consultant and qualified ANPs. You will receive support to enhance your clinical knowledge and decision-making skills in all aspects of SACT and oncology patient care.
Main duties of the job
The tANP will collaborate with the SACT nursing team in delivering treatments within the day units, providing clinical expertise and guidance. Through education and supervision, you will develop autonomous practice in assessing patients' fitness for treatment and formulating management plans. Additionally, you will contribute to the non-medical prescribing team in the oral SACT clinics, advancing your assessment and patient management skills.
The successful candidate will also contribute to the strategic development of SACT services, supporting the expansion of non-medical prescribing clinics and oncology triage services. You will work closely with nursing, medical, and allied health professionals at the Berkshire Cancer Centre to ensure safe, effective care for patients receiving SACT.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse (NMC)
- First Level degree (HEI Level 6) or Equivalent, in undergraduate base profession
- Care of the patient receiving SACT or equivalent (SACT passport)
Desirable criteria
- Certificate in Advanced Communications
- Mentoring, Facilitating Workplace Learning or Clinical Supervision Qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience and expertise within SACT and Oncology (Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience / minimum of 3 years within SACT)
- Proven evidence of management ability and leadership
Desirable criteria
- Experience of change management
- Demonstrable evidence of research capability, or the application of research evidence to own clinical practice
