We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and flexible Registered Nurse to support the team on Whitley Ward to ensure strong leadership across the team for a 12 month Maternity cover Secondment. 

 

Main duties of the job

1. The post holder will Provide effective managerial and clinical leadership of ward/department staff.

2. Undertakes individual performance reviews, appraisals, identifies and implements personal development plans for junior staff.

3. Assists in the effective management of the ward/department consumables budget.

4. Complies with all Trust policies and national guidelines.

5. Deals personally with patients, families and carers in order to aid resolution of complaints.

6. Represents the ward at meetings as and when required.

7. Facilitates open and effective communication within the ward team.

Education

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse
  • Evidence of Leadership/Management and speciality development
  • Mentorship training
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Assessor

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience of which includes work in post qualification speciality
  • Experience in mentoring, facilitation, teaching, assessing, coaching
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of involvement in successful Change Management
  • Must have recent clinical experience in speciality area
