Showing effective management skills, you will take responsibility for the day to day running of the community nursing service.

Day to day management of Community Nursing service
- Supporting staff to develop and enhance their capabilities
- Supporting colleagues in the delivery of compassionate, safe and structured care
- Work innovatively to ensure Community Service is fit for challenges and future demands
- Plan and provide treatment in collaboration with others as appropriate

- Community Nursing experience at Band 6.

- Registered Nurse – Adult
- Specialist Practitioner qualification (DN Degree, diploma or Certificate in District Nursing) or equivalent clinical experience and leadership qualification

- Non-Medical Prescriber /Nurse Prescriber Qualification
Continuous Professional Development

- Active on the Mentor register
- Evidence of Leadership & Management development

- Teaching qualification/or willingness to undertake
- Recognised coaching qualification or willing to undertake
Additional Requirements

- Able to work flexibly across service areas to enhance quality of service provision
- Valid full UK licence with confidence to drive during unsocial hours and in unusual environments with use of car for work
- A degree of agility and the ability to manoeuvre light to moderate load

- Able to work bank Holidays, weekends and unsocial hours to meet service need
- Able to work in challenging environments
- Understanding of QMIS and Quality Improvement initiatives
Previous Experience

- Evidence of clinical leadership within a community nursing environment including coaching Teaching/assessing in practice, Recruitment and selection, Risk and Incident Reporting (Root Cause Analysis) and supporting teams in learning from findings.
- Community Nursing experience at Band 6 for significant time
- Able to conduct courageous conversations and support staff with performance related issues
- Able to support and manage own workload and support others
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- In depth understanding of case co-ordination and the role of Community Nursing
- Able to motivate self and teams to manage change
- Works collaboratively with their counterparts from teams in other provider organisations to develop a seamless service
- Effectively leads, manages and motivates a team by being highly visible, approachable and communicative at all levels; utilising effective written, oral and presentation skills.
- staff to undertake clinical duties implementing evidence based practice
- Ability to influence and problem solve
- Applies policies and procedures effectively to manage risk
- Manage performance through the application of HR processes
- Demonstrates flexibility to deal with the needs of unscheduled services and able to prioritise workloads and work under pressure
- Knowledge of current DH documents/government legislation and recommendations
- Willingness to undertake further qualifications and develop expertise in identified areas
- Understanding of budget management and its implications

- Able to utilise IT and various media in order to support data collection and produce databases, spread-sheets and reports.
