Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum. This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2024/25 is confirmed
Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Health Care Support Worker to work within the in-patient services in Bryn Y Neuadd Hospital
The post holder will initially be based within learning disability inpatient service but maybe required to support patients within other inpatient services within north wales.
There are currently 3 wards within our in our service:
Tan Y Coed – provides 1:1 care supporting individuals in 4 bungalows – replicating, supporting people in preparation for community living.
Mesen Fach – Is a Treatment and assessment unit for adults with Learning disabilities with complex needs.
Foelas – Is a Treatment and assessment unit for adults with Learning disabilities with complex health needs.
The successful applicants will support the Ward Managers to provide quality care for individuals with Learning Disabilities and associated complex health needs. As a key member of the team you should possess good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal). You should also be willing to work flexibly within a team.
Successful applicants would be paid as a B2 until the complete our service training (2 days) Once completed staff then will be paid a B3.
Main duties of the job
-
The post involves working within a Learning Disability unit caring for people who suffer from a variety of mental/ Physical illness' to help gain an understanding of illness and develop strategies to cope with the illness when discharged back into the community. The post is offered on a shift basis and involves working weekend shifts the successful applicant would also be expected to work night duty on an internal rotation basis.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
