We’ve got just thing! The chance to join a dynamic team has arisen to at our Sub-Acute Stroke Rehab Unit (SSARU).

The unit consists of 30 beds at South Bristol Community Hospital, which provides a purpose built rehabilitation environment where individuals who are ‘medically stable’ can receive rehabilitation assessment, along with focused therapy and support from our multidisciplinary team, to support independence before they return home.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a nurse with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and respect for patients, carers, and colleagues to work with us to create an environment conducive to care.

You will have good clinical skills with some acute experience within hospital and ideally knowledge of community services and would like to gain and develop your skills within the area of discharge planning. You will also have some knowledge and experience of managing a team of nurses but would also like to develop this skill to learn more in-depth team management skills

  • Registered Nurse with NMC registration

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Able to effectively lead a team (with senior support where required)
  • Able to make clinically reasoned judgements when working with a variety of conditions.
  • Experience of supervising staff and students of own profession, including mentorship.
  • Able to function effectively as a team member
Desirable criteria
  • Recent relevant experience within the community setting including management of the frail complex patient
  • Experience of supervising staff and students from other professions
