Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive, multi professional team that recognises and upholds ESNEFTs drive to develop an outstanding advanced clinical practice workforce.

We are looking for a qualified, experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated ACP to complement our established team in the Urgent Treatment Centre.

The Urgent Treatment Centre provides urgent medical treatment of undifferentiated and un-diagnosed illness or injury of that is not life threatening. The ACP role will be at the forefront of service provision and integral in supporting the Multidisciplinary Team in the provision and delivery of prompt, safe and timely intervention .

The Centre is open 0800-0000, 7 days a week, including weekends and Bank Holidays with a variety of shifts available.

Main duties of the job

You will provide professional leadership, clinical expertise and manage same day presentations of patients to ESNEFT Urgent and Emergency Care Centre in Ipswich

As an ACP in this service you will be expected to work in partnership with primary and secondary care colleagues and other agencies to secure a smooth patient journey across the whole patient pathway. Self-care will be encouraged and patients and carers will be actively involved in the development of their care plan and the management of their condition. 

The Post holder will also act as a role model while promoting clinical effectiveness and delivering advanced practice.

You will be expected to perform comprehensive assessment of patients, Adults and Children, with same-day urgent medical, diverse minor injury & minor illness and urgent presentations and develop working diagnosis and treatment plans whilst working without direct supervision, with input from the hospital speciality teams.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Completed portfolio of supervised practice in advanced clinical practice.
  • Evidence of continued professional development following MSc completion.
  • Evidence of recent teaching, mentorship, and supervision of staff
  • Evidence of multi – professional working
  • Significant experience of working as a registered practitioner with ED/UTC/Primary Care
  • Able to manage the common and complex presentations of health conditions in UTC autonomously
  • Evidence or Multi-professional working
  • Able to make advanced decision making at advanced level
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of clinical work in an autonomous role
  • Evidence of quality improvement methodology and audit experience
  • Evidence of involvement in change management
  • Evidence of QI/Audit experience
  • Evidence of involvement in change management

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Professional Registration with either NMC, GPhC or HCPC.
  • Possession of 1st degree in a clinical field e.g., Nursing, physiotherapy at a minimum 2:2 classification
  • Possession of MSc in Advanced Practice or recognised equivalent by HEE Centre Advancing Practice
  • Non-Medical Prescribing (v300) if appropriate to registered profession /role
  • Portfolio of evidence towards the 4 Pillars (Clinical Practice, leadership, education,research) of advanced practice
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of continuing education
  • Advance Life Support Course
  • Leadership/management course

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrates a high degree of knowledge within specialty
  • Demonstrate an understanding of current developments in the relevant speciality
  • Evidence of both theoretical and practical skills and competency in patient management in UTC
  • Demonstrate the ability to utilise current research finding in practice
  • Understand, encourage, and support clinical supervision
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and risk assessment/management
  • Knowledge of infection control issues
  • Evidence of both theoretical and practical skills and competency in patient management
