Depending on your preference, we offer a range of rotations role at Queen Charlottes & Chelsea Hospital to give you a broad range of experiences:

  • Antenatal (Clinic, Day Assessment Unit, Triage and Maternity Helpline)
  • Postnatal amd Antenatal Wards
  • Intrapartum Settings (Labour Ward and Birth Centre)
  • Specialist Teams (catering to vulnerable women and high risk pregnancies)

Main duties of the job

  • To work as a prime care provider in all aspects of midwifery care. Providing continuity of midwifery care within a continuity of care team.
  • To work flexibly within the team to provide 24 hour cover for antenatal/postnatal wards, labour ward, Birth centre and community on a rotational basis. This will require internal rotation between areas and day/night duty.

Education/ qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Midwifery degree or equivalent
  • Registered Midwife (on NMC register)
Desirable criteria
  • NIPE/EON

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Completed 1 year post registration clinical experience working as an RM in the UK
  • Completed preceptorship course if applicable
Desirable criteria
  • Scrubbing in theatre
  • Worked within a continuity of carer pathway previously

Skills/knowledge/ abilities

Essential criteria
  • The ability to be flexible
  • Excellent clinical decision making skills
  • IV drugs administration and cannulation
  • Knowledge of obstetric
Desirable criteria
  • FSRH letter of competency for contraceptive implant insertion
  • Worked as shift leader
