Job overview

BHRUT maternity department is looking to recruit an enthuastic individual to join our Maternity Team. The successful applicant will be responsible for accurate discharge of women and their newborns ensuring the safe transfer of care is communicated to the community teams. Working closely with multidisciplinary team, the sucessful candidate will ensure that workflow runs smoohtly. If you are interested in this role then we look forward to hearing from you.
 
 

 

Main duties of the job

The Maternity Discharge Coordinator will work throughout the maternity department and support staff with the workflow and discharge of women in our care to ensure that patient needs are met. The Maternity Discharge Coordinator will ensure there is high quality patient experience and assist with service development to maintain this. The role is intended to help reduce the length of stay within our Maternity unit and to develop a clear, robust and efficient discharge process.

Patients across north east London are benefitting from two new state of the art theatres at KGH and our Community Diagnostic Centres at Barking Community Hospital and St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub will significantly increase the number of scans that can be carried out.

We’re looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It’ll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.
