To assist in the provision of high quality care to women and their families using the antenatal screening service, under the direction and supervision of the Antenatal Screening Coordinators.
Demonstrate a range of skills to meet the needs of women whilst promoting dignity, privacy and respect. To comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers. To provide a range of healthcare and non-nursing duties, ensuring an efficient and effective service to the department at all times.
Main duties of the job
To provide care and administration under the guidance and supervision of a registered midwife. Supporting women in their care during ultrasound scans and during the course of their antenatal screening journey. You will work as an integral part of a small team responsible for overseeing the administration and completion of antenatal screening, newborn blood spots, supporting the fetal medicine consultant ultrasound service and maintaining the standards set by Public Health England.
To assist with administration and non-nursing duties at the discretion of the Screening Coordinators, Antenatal Clinic Manager or Band 7 coordinator. To support the Antenatal Clinic in times of high acuity.

Antenatal Screening Support Worker
Maternity Cover. Fixed Term until 28/2/26
Band 4 - 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday
(Part time hours considered)
We are looking for an enthusiastic band 4 to join our Antenatal Screening Team.
The Antenatal Screening Support Worker is an integral role within the Antenatal & Newborn Screening pathway. Working in a small team, you will work with the Screening Coordinators to ensure a positive experience for those women requiring additional care from the fetal medicine consultants or additional screening due to high risk pregnancies.
This is a mainly administrative role and you should be organised & self-motivated, with excellent IT skills. You will undertake venepuncture for women/pregnant people and be involved in supporting women with complex pregnancies.
