We are looking for a vibrant, compassionate, intuitive, friendly and hardworking candidtate to join our nursing team. You will have experience of working within a care setting and will understand the importance of ensuring patients recieve a positive experience during their stay. You will have excellent communication skills, integrity and value working within a dedicated team.

If this is you, then this is a really fantastic opportunity to work in our very unique service at Bursledon House, a ten bedded paediatric inpatient unit which is part of Southampton Children's Hospital. We care for children (0-16yrs) and their families who are experiencing limitations of managing a chronic condition such as long standing constipation and soiling, sleep disorders, selective eating, anxiety, diabetes, obesity, chronic fatigue, rehabilitation following brain injury whom are wanting to get their lives back on track and with a multi-disciplinary team approach our aim is to do just that.

Qualifications / training required

  • NVQ 3 in health and social care or equivalent
  • Numeracy and Literacy skills at level 1 or 2 or equivalent

  • Experienced and competent in additional clinical skills, as per job description.

Previous or relevant experience necessary

  • Proven experience in a caring role
  • Understanding of acute hospital environment and the role of a Senior Healthcare Assistant

  • Previous experience of working with the general public.
  • Experience of using a computer.
