A fixed 1 year term position has become available within the colposcopy nurse specialist team at St Mary's Hospital/Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
This vacancy is a great opportunity for an accredited BSCCP nurse colposcopist to join our busy and very experienced team of nurse specialists and consultants to gain further knowledge and skills within this specialised area.
We are specifically seeking a candidate with the BSCCP accreditation who will be a key member of our team, working autonomously, applying your advanced clinical skills to make diagnoses, manage care pathways and oversee caseloads.

Main duties of the job
• Provide a high quality assessment, diagnostic for women referred to the Colposcopy service without direct medical supervision/independently but in accordance with local and BSCCP National Guidelines.
• Act as a resource for women and the clinical and administrative teams by provision of comprehensive advice, information, teaching and training within ICHT.
• Undertake where appropriate, nursing research with published outcomes and updating own knowledge to promote excellence in clinical practice, and the setting of quality standards within Colposcopy.
• Contribute to formulating reports and clinical audit of own practice, service and outcomes.
• Active involvement in the development of the Gynaecology service.
• Active Involvement in improving patient pathway and patient experience

Essential criteria
- Educated to postgraduate diploma/degree level or equivalent experience
- Teaching or Mentorship course or equivalent experience
- Smear sample taker training
- BSCCP accredited Colposcopist
Desirable criteria
- Master’s Degree

- Non-medical prescribing qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience as an accredited nurse colposcopist
- Research and audit to improve the quality of the service and patient care
- Informal complaints resolution
- Investigation and resolution of local incidents
