Job overview

At Imperial we are passionate and committed in providing choice in place of birth, and strive to maintain our recent CQC of Outstanding. We have two alongside midwifery-led units and we are currently looking for a Band 6 midwife to work at our Queen Charlotte’s site.

We are looking for a midwife who can demonstrate excellent decision making and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with the multi-disciplinary team to facilitate safe care and provide an enhanced patient experience. You will need to demonstrate commitment to supporting physiological birth and contribute to the provision of midwife-led care on our Birth Centres.

Main duties of the job

  •   Provide high quality, evidence-based care and advice to women throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods
  •   Enhance the woman’s experience of care and ensure that the needs of the woman are placed at the centre of care delivery.
  •    Liaise appropriately with services to ensure safe and effective care is provided to women at the right place, and at the right time. Act as an advocate for women, whilst safeguarding her and her wider family and social group where appropriate.
  • Be flexible and support the maternity service by working in other areas when needed 
  •    Be flexible and open to new ways of working as we review and re-evaluate our service

Skills/knowledge/ abilities

  • Evidence of applying current research to practice.
